We've long known that we wanted to have a blog as a means of communicating news and updates to our users. Recent events related to the service outage (which we'll describe shortly) convinced us that we really needed to make the blog a priority. So here it is.
We hope to use the blog as a forum for communicating timely information and for engaging our users in whatever dialog makes sense. We'll continue to rely on our Wiki for reference information.
We want to hear from you. Please feel free to drop by and leave us a comment.
I am unable to see my bookmarks when I log in to my.foxcloud.com It has the right username along the top bar, so I know my username and password are correct...is it because I'm using IE? The url shows up as http://www.my.foxcloud.com/bookmarks.py after I login...
ReplyDeleteJohn,
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a known bug that My Foxmarks doesn't work with any version of IE. We're getting the distinct sense that IE compatability is important to people, so we'll make fixing whatever the problem is a priority.
Thanks for letting us know.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI am frankly looking to use IE7. Will you folks ever make a "IEMarks" ?
Thanks
I see what people are saying but I think the answer is the the name of this product. Don't make an IE version, PLEASE! Firefox is the way forward.
ReplyDeleteTo Tom:
ReplyDeleteThats a little pretentious, isn't it? People have their preferences, and (if the developers feel like it) they should be respected. I use FF, yes, but what about those who use Opera? Or the new Safari? Should this great service be FF only? I think not. It's too good and useful to selfishly keep with just FF.
Yes I have to second that idea. I am a software developer and I use Firefox as my primary browsers but I need to test things in IE as well as FF, I really miss foxmarks when I have to switch to IE.
ReplyDeleteFirst I'd like just like to say: great app!! Second, I'd like to agree with the last few comments. I am also a developer. I use both Firefox and IE equally, across no fewer than 4 machines. I would love to have just *one* collection of bookmarks for all of them!
ReplyDeleteI primarily use Firefox, but my job as a web developer forces me to test in IE... I just can't get around it. It would be extremely helpful to be able to synchronize at least some of my bookmarks... for example..the Bookmarks toolbar in Firefox with the Links folder in IE...if you could start with that sync, then my particular needs would instantly be met
ReplyDelete@Matthew:
ReplyDeleteThough we don't yet offer IE sync, have you tried http://my.foxmarks.com/? It would at least give you access under IE to your bookmark collection...
NetMarks Manager does it for IE and FF, however I like FoxMarks, why can't you do this ?
ReplyDelete@Sam: Stay tuned.
ReplyDeleteHello, any status update on bookmarks for IE?
ReplyDeleteI would like to see Foxmarks for IE too, any update on the dev process? Thx!
ReplyDeleteFoxmarks has already got the feature to share a folder full of bookmarks and also provides RSS feed for that, which anyone can see in any browser. i just subscribe to that RSS feed in IE7 and Opera to test those bookmarks. anyway for browsing i use Firefox, so thats where i add bookmarks. Would you need 'IEmarks' anymore!?
ReplyDeletebut dear Foxmarks team, even if you release a IE version, release it on the name "Foxmarks: The famous Bookmarks Synchronizer of Firefox" :)
No no, dont make Foxmarks a member of the crusade against proprietary software.. In my workplace we have no choise but use IE. Dont ignore the fact that IE is still being used by most web surfers, and among them many would appreciate this software. This form of collective punishment is childish. >_>
ReplyDelete@Ron: Erm, have you looked at the front page of this blog? We're currently in alpha testing for an IE version of Foxmarks.
ReplyDelete*bump* Oh, please keep working on Foxmarks for IE. In Korea, everything e-commerce uses ActiveX and so it's impossible to convince Koreans to use Firefox... but if you could sync bookmarks and passwords between the two, it would certainly convince a lot of them to at least use Firefox with their everyday browsing...
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work guys!
ReplyDeleteI to am looking for an way to sync my foxmarks with IE since works intranet is very M$ and IE biased I have to have two machines side by side so I can do my job and access the Intranet and other resources.
