A few users had reported that they were unable to use
My Foxmarks -- clicking on the folder names in the sidebar failed to cause the folder to open. It appears that it was a timing bug, which we've just fixed. Give it a shot. If you see the problem again, please
let us know. As far as we know, My Foxmarks works with Firefox, IE, Safari, and Opera.
My Foxmarks: Now with 10% less suckage.
I installed Foxmarks 36 hours ago and set up my account. Now when I open Foxfire 1.5.0.8 the Setup Wizard appears. It verifies my account okay. Then when it tries to syn my Bookmarks it stays in that mode for as long as I have Foxfire open but it never succeeds.
ReplyDeleteFoxmarks saved the day, my bookmarks jsut had a fit, but foxmarks managed to recover them, w00t! thanks, put a post on that url.
ReplyDeleteCheerio
@Print:
ReplyDeleteFoxmarks to the rescue! Glad to hear it saved your bacon.
hello I need to organize my bookmarks online in foxmark
ReplyDeletethanks…..peace
Two major issues for myfoxmarks.
ReplyDelete1. Possibility of adding bookmarks in the online version is crucial.
2. The sidebarframe disappears when opening a lot of websites. Even more: to get the the side bar back I have to login again.
Hi, i was wondering is it possible to implement a manual Upload/Download buttons in future releases? Going to the option diag is kinda iritating... And what is the auto-sync interval??
ReplyDeleteTia
I don't know what happened. I have three computers and wanted to share my bookmarks. The first two installs went fine, but the third install somehow went wrong. All of my bookmarks from the first two computers are now GONE! All that I have are the bookmarks from the third computer on all the computers.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was installing the foxmarks software on the third computer, there was an error message that there was a problem with delicious. It might have been that. Or maybe it was just too easy to overwrite my other bookmarks. Either way, for a while, your server had my old bookmarks. Is there any way I can get them back?
This is not something to fix, but something to make Foxmarks better.
ReplyDeleteThis morning, when I look in the Bookmarks in the Firefox, all the bookmarks a gone, because I clicked Sycn on shutdown, all the bookmark in the Foxmarks site a gone too. So I think Foxmarks should keep the last two sycn and can always undo the last sycn.
"My Foxmarks works with Firefox, IE, Safari, and Opera"
ReplyDeleteHow do you get foxmarks to work with Opera?
“My Foxmarks works with Firefox, IE, Safari, and Opera”
ReplyDelete???
How do you get foxmarks to work with Safari? This would be great
@Marco: To be clear, it's http://my.foxmarks.com/ that works with Firefox, IE, Safari, and Opera. The Foxmarks *extension* still only works with Firefox, though we hope to expand the browser selection in the near future.
ReplyDeleteIt would be really a great deal to get foxmarks extension somehow to safari. Currently I have to copy each "bookmarkable" link I find with safari to firefox in order to get it "foxmark"ed.
ReplyDeleteI have lost my bookmarks and can not retrieve them. followed directions on my. foxmarks. help Steve
ReplyDeleteHi Eric,
ReplyDeleteBack on November 26th, in response to alternate browser support, you mentioned: "... though we hope to expand the browser selection in the near future."
Since you're over your v2 "hump" (at least things are working perfectly for me), I was wondering what "near future" meant. Another month? A quarter?
I would LOVE to move to Safari on the Mac, but I absolutely positively don't want to give up Foxmarks type capability ...
Thanks!
Jeff: Well, it depends mostly on whether the "near future" was modifying "we hope" or "to expand". :)
ReplyDeleteOther browsers have vastly different bookmarks implementations and aren't necessarily as user-friendly as Firefox when it comes to getting between the browser and its bookmarks collection, so it's not going to be quickly done--at this point, I can't really hazard a reliable guess on when you'll see the fruits of our labors, so I shall just be coy and recommend you keep an eye on the blog for future updates.
I'm very keen to move back to Safari, because Firefox has turned into a massive resource hog on my iBook in the past year. After a day of browsing I end up with a swapfile of 1GB! this only happens if I have used Firefox, and I don't even get it to do any heavy lifting.
ReplyDeleteAs with others here, Foxmarks is the only reason I've stuck with Firefox. Pleeeeeease port it to Safari :) I'd be willing to pay for such a service.
I agree with Rolf!
ReplyDeletefoxmarks for safari please!!!!! i reallly dont wanna use firefox.... :(
ReplyDeleteI would definitely pay for Foxmarks on Safari!
ReplyDeleteplease a version for safari!
ReplyDeleteI would also pay (a modest amount) to have a Foxmarks-like extension for Safari. Even Google toolbar would be a nice touch, but Foxmarks is so much more friendly.
ReplyDelete+100
ReplyDeleteI'd pay as well for foxmarks on safari.
Firefox has become the most incredible resource hog even without extensions. Extensions are the only thing keeping me still using firefox.

One more vote for Foxmarks extension for Safari!
ReplyDeleteObviously as the popularity of Mac OS platform grows more and more people switch to Safari as the user experience is far more superior compared to rest of the browsers... and yes, I used to be a Firefox user before switching to Mac. Actually the only reason to still keep FireFox on my Mac is the Firefox. I often use my.foxmarks, but although site has improved a lot during recent versions - it never would be the same compared to well-made plugin.
So I believe this will be a very cool business case for you guys. Keep it free or charge a small amount for it and see what happens :)
Foxmarks for Safariiiiiii! :-)

ReplyDeleteFoxmarks for Safari, now that would be luverly!
ReplyDeletePlease: Foxmarks for Safari!! I'd pay for it! Plz!!
ReplyDeleteeh, opera would be great, too!
ReplyDeleteFoxmarks for Safari would be a handy thing. I'm [still] a big fan of The Service Formerly Known as .Mac®, and it's system-wide sync features (heck, my Dock & Dashboard are synced across my three Macs), but to extend that sync into FireFox would the the icing on the cake.
ReplyDeleteEither that, or perhaps someone could bring MobileMe® syncing to Firefox the way it's implemented in so many 3rd party Mac Apps like Transmit, OmniFocus, and NetNewsWire?
Foxmark for Safari would be really great!
ReplyDeleteI have to share bookmarks between different PCs and OS's and Foxmarks save the day everyday!
While waiting for it, please accept my sincere salutations for the great job already done.
Foxmark for Safari, please!!!!
