Users trying to install Foxmarks today may receive an "Invalid Install Package" error message. This is due to a (hopefully temporary) problem that has cropped up as Mozilla migrates their add-ons site to the newest version.
We hear that the problem should be fixed within the next hour. If you're anxious to get started (and hey, who wouldn't be?), you can download from our site directly. You'll have to add our site to the list of the approved download sites: when the warning bar appears at the top of your browser, press "Options" and then "Add Site" and then click the download link again.
Here's a new (hopefully) idea for *a* Foxmarks product
ReplyDeleteIn the same way, Foxmarks syncs bookmarks between computers, it would be great to be able to sync plug-in/addons between computers.
I use FF on about 8 different computers, and would like to make sure all of them have the same addons & same versions of addons, without having to do this manually. FoxPlugs :-) (or FoxAdds) sounds like a good idea, ehhh?
(Although syncing addons is probably infinitely more volatile than
bookmarks....)
oh yes, that would be a dream. preferably just as foxmarks completely in the backround.
ReplyDeleteor, if that is too heavy to implement because of installation routines or something:
pop up a message. new addon has been installed one one of your "remote machines", would you like to install it on this machine too? then the official downloadsite would pop up, to guarantee a proper install. right after installation you´ll get asked to import the preferences of newly installed addons, already saved on the foxmarks server after beeing set for the first time....
