We just pushed a new version of Foxmarks to the Mozilla Add-ons website.
v2.6.0 is a maintenance release and contains several bug fixes including: better support for users behind proxies, a working flow for resolving conflicts, and safeguards to prevent interoperability issues between Foxmarks and other add-ons (view the complete
release notes).
Very good release. Thanks, guys!
ReplyDeletegood work! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteJust installed this update. Just want to thank you guys for great job! It's my primary must have add-on :)
ReplyDeleteGreat extension. Requires no input from me to just work!
ReplyDeleteAnd it still deletes the icons in my toolbar, and it still adds unclosable tabs.
ReplyDeleteWIN98, FF 2.0.0.18, TabMixPlus.
Still unusable for me.
oh... can't wait for form sync..... :)
ReplyDeleteDoesnt work for me. I just don't see anything related to foxmarks. no synch, no icon in the bottom of the browser, nothing in the add-ons dialog box (in firefox). I was having my bookmarks as usual.
ReplyDeleteThen I tried reinstalling firefox and foxmarks. Now I do not have any of my bookmarks. I just don't get foxmarks installed. I tried installing. But after restarting FF, It starts as usual. nothing new..
I am getting an unknown sync err. Can eny1 help me please? thanks
ReplyDeleteI'm still unable to sync at all in Windows. The last sync date is labelled as 14th October! I've tried version 2.5.3 and now 2.6, same result. Until this I was very happy with Foxmarks, now I'm having to manually backup bookmarks externally. Is there any way to troubleshoot this?
ReplyDeleteThis update(2.60) messed up my toolbar...will go back to 2.5.3 until bugs are corrected.
ReplyDeleteI am also getting an unknown sync error since installing 2.6.0. The current status just says:
ReplyDeleteProblem Syncing
Synchronization error
An unknown synchronization error has occurred.
Those like marcolou who are seeing their toolbars messed up when trying to install/update Foxmarks, this is what happened to me with 2.5.3 and 2.6, too. Also, the first run Foxmarks page did not come as it should.
ReplyDeleteWhat I did was restart the browser, again, until the Foxmarks first run page came up. (It took me an additional restart after first updating Foxmarks for the first run page to come up.)
After that, I did have to reset and then redo my toolbar customizations, but that was 10-15 seconds.
After that, everything has been AOK with Foxmarks and my browser.
It is a pain, but, at least the work-around is not very painful.
P.S. I am not with Foxmarks. I'm just a user.
Thanks for the great software.
ReplyDeleteI have just one complain: Please stop to notify when there is an update available. Firefox already do this in another disturbing way.
I use Firefox in several computers, and when there is an update these pop-ups annoy me.
I, too, want to thank you guys for making this great extension. But I have the same complaint as Rômulo Fernandes: Please, please, please offer an option to disable the update notification. Firefox's own update check will find the new version on its own. No need for an additional window I have to dismiss. Please? :)
ReplyDeleteV2.6 has mucked up my bookmarks toolbar. None of them are shown on the toolbar even though they are still in the Bookmarks list.
ReplyDeleteManaged to get my bookmarks back again by going into customise and dragging "Bookmark Toolbar Items" back onto the toolbar.
ReplyDeleteI'm just wondering: since I've installed the update, I've been having an issue with Firefox where it begins to hog system resources and eventually crashes. I do not use many extensions (adblock, web developer, and FlashGot) and Foxmarks is the most recent update. Is this an issue that sounds familiar to anyone? It may have nothing to do with foxmarks...
ReplyDeleteFoxmarks is great, but after updating to 2.6 on my various PCs, all of which made my toolbars icons to disappear, not just the Bookmarks, but also others, e.g. Web Developer, All-In-One Siderbar. the bug seems more server than previous where I could fixed by resetting them. please fix...
ReplyDeleteFoxmarks *still* doesn't allow you to change it's silly conflicting keyboard shortcuts.
ReplyDeleteAnnoying.
Those you experiencing problems with your toolbar customizations, please see my post above for a workaround.
ReplyDeletethanks WildcatRay. my problem is no matter how many restart I do, the toolbars icons just didn't come back. when went into customised, none of the icons are there! I am using 3.0.4 portable version. it happens to all my installs and profiles. doesn't work even downgraded to 2.5.3, the icons are gone! I have no work around but to use 2.5.3 instead.
ReplyDeleteHow about adding a feature that allows you to sync other plugins such as No Script and what not?
ReplyDeleteP.S. Foxmarks is my favorite plugin after Ad Blocker.
Please give us the safari foxmarks NOW! I work on different machines and it would be great to use safari on my macbook pro with foxmarks!!
ReplyDeletePlease add FF 3 tags to your synchronizing options. Thanks for your hard work.
ReplyDeleteI cannot run the Setup Wizard...I just stays in the "Welcome to the Foxmarks Setup Wizard" forever. It may be that a conflict was introduced between the old (Firefox 2) and new (Firefox 3) versions. I am using Foxmarks 2.6.0
ReplyDeleteWhen I click "Tools > Foxmarks > Foxmarks Settings", I first get the Settings interface. *It indicates it is trying to sync with the word "Synchronizing..."*, and there is no way to stop it...maybe this is preventing the Setup Wizard from running! If I click the "Setup Wizard" button, like I said, after I get through the screens where I say I already have an account and login, I get the confirmation, but after that, the Setup Wizard just has that dotted-circle timer on the left and nothing else happens, not even afte a long time, like 15 minutes.
I cannot get Setup Wizard past this point no matter how many times I try.
Also, the Settings dialog has no "Stop" button to stop the syncrhronization that it indicates with the word "Syncronizing..." I can only cancel out of the dialog altogether, but this dialog is the only way to get to the Setup Wizard!
I have also tried restarting Firefox, and cookies for Foxmarks.com are accepted.
ReplyDeleteMore trouble than it's worth!!!
ReplyDeletekönnte mir die lösug auf deutsch erklähren ?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS PLUGIN!!! It should already come in default firefox configuration. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteTHANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletePasswords synchronization is pretty good, but how about to make a history synchronization also?
ReplyDeleteI find Fox marks absolutely invaluable to my work. I only wish that you would make a version for the I-Phone. Right now the I-Phone only looks to pull BM from IE and that is a shame cause all my BM are on Fire Fox.
ReplyDelete2.6.0 worked great, but I just upgraded to Firefox 3.1 Beta 2 and it no longer works. When will a new version be released which is compatable with Firefox 3.1 Beta 2. Thanks
ReplyDeleteWould be great if it works with FireFox 3.1 Beta 2!
ReplyDeleteJust thought I should mention that the Synchronization problem fixed itself in a couple days...maybe there was an update, but I can't remember...I think it's just some bizarre bug that worked itself out somehow.
ReplyDeleteI installed it after the most recent nightly of the 3.1 beta 2 and it is working fine for me, I have tabmixplus, noscript, adblockplus, cutemenus, ctl-tab as far as add-ons are concerned.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate all the work. I love Foxmarks.
ReplyDeleteIs there support for Firefox 3b in the works? I'm really loving Firefox 3b and use it for everything now and I really miss Foxmarks!
Sorry to say that installing this seems to have wiped out a couple years of bookmarks. I can try to restore them from a backup.
ReplyDeletehello foxmarks team
ReplyDeletei love foxmarks and user it over 3 years a go :)
best wish regards
