Xmarks for Safari 1.3.1 released (Snow Leopard!)

As promised, Xmarks for Safari on Snow Leopard is now stable and available for download.  For our Safari users, you should already have received an upgrade notice, but if not, feel free to grab it from our download page.    That said, if the pre-release (1.3) version works for you, or if you are still on MacOS 10.5 (Leopard), there is no compelling reason for you to upgrade at this time if you don't wish to.

We're hard at work right now on a new release (tentatively version 1.4) that will contain important updates:

  • fixes for some pernicious sync bugs that have been very difficult to track down but we're now making good headway;

  • a quieter, gentler upgrade mechanism that won't bother you so much.

We appreciate everyone's diligence and we hope to make your Safari experience with Xmarks as seamless as possible!  As always, please let us know what you think or get help in our user forum on GetSatisfaction.

  3. @t: We're putting out new Chrome builds almost daily. You can follow the action in our Xmarks for Chrome forum here: http://getsatisfaction.com/foxmarks/products/foxmarks_xmarks_for_chrome

    I'm sure we'll release a stable Xmarks for Chrome version just as soon as Google releases a stable Chrome. As it stands we're scrambling daily to keep up with the myriad changes that affect the Chrome extensions architecture. If you haven't already, please join our Xmarks for Chrome alpha program and help us keep up the pace!

  4. @penny: You mean, when they release a version of Chrome with a stabilized extensions API? (or something to that effect)

    Anyway, seems to be working well (on Chromium build 27064). I like how it updates automatically, but a simple feed with changes for each update would be nice (for stable releases, when they arrive, at least). I would also like to see the 'Smart Bookmarks' folder disappear in Chrome, unless you guys were planning something for that. ;) (I'm afraid to delete it, since I don't know if it will cause the folder to disappear in Firefox)
