Tab Sync coming to Xmarks for Chrome and IE

Earlier this month we announced tab sync in Xmarks for Firefox, a new feature that allows users to access their open Firefox tabs from other computers. This week we're happy to announce that tab sync will soon be available in Xmarks for Chrome and Xmarks for IE as well! The new feature works similarly across all three Xmarks synchronizers, allowing you to access your open windows and tabs on other computers and other browsers. A more detailed explanation of how tab sync works can be found in the original blog post on the feature.

The update will be rolled out to all of our Xmarks for Chrome and IE users this week. (If you can't wait, get the Chrome version here, or the IE version here.) We hope you enjoy it—let us know how it's working for you!

  4. Please please please: let the open tabs be available on the web site!!!

I don't have xmarks at home/etc. so these are invisible to me without the web interface!

  9. this is a great idea! but i noticed one down-side: yesterday, some driver-installer screwed my OS without leaving me any option to repair it (how silly is that, hu? stupid broadcom-drivers! -.-)

of course, after reinstalling everything, i was able to recover my open tabs from xmarks. but thats the downside i see: now, i still have my "old" installation listed in the open-tabs-list and cannot get it out of there. i tried changing the name from the new install to the one from the old but even that did not help. so: it would be cool if there would be an option to delete tabs from the list (or even a whole computer!)
after all this wouldnt have any effect on the "real" system, so i guess it wouldnt be a security risk or anything but would come very handy when something went wrong. ;)

  10. Great idea - tabs synchronization.

I would like to have automatic tabs opening - after Firefox started. (Like automatic bookmarks synchronization)

After forced restart of my computer or switch off - I would like reopen my tabs - but this actual computer is missing in the list - please fix that bug!

  12. what if i have different bookmarks for work and home, i dont want any of my bookmarks at work to sync to home nor any of my home to sync to work, but i want to be able to look at my tabs from home at work and work at home? would sync profiles take care of this or does this only work between one sync profile

    Thanks.

  13. Hey, I just noticed a problem with this. It's slight but I thought maybe it could be resolved easily. I use portablefirefox quite often. When I fired it up on my home computer to enable this cool new feature, I named it something like "PortableFirefox" as the 'Name for this computer.' Now, whenever I sync from the home computer's main installation of (nonportable)firefox, it overwrites the portable version even though I have given them different names. I suppose this wouldn't come up often but it would be nice if it relied on the names I gave the different computers instead of assuming that the same IP/browser/whatever combo means I want it to overwrite it. God, I can't write properly this late. I hope someone understands my issue. Thanks.
