Xmarks for Dolphin HD Has Arrived!

The Xmarks plugin for the Dolphin HD Browser for Android is now available for download in the Android market.

First search for the Dolphin HD Browser in the market and download to your Droid. Once installation is complete you can navigate back to the market to search for "Xmarks Dolphin" and install the plugin. After launching the Dolphin Browser, you can swipe the screen to the left to view the extensions toolbar, where Xmarks should now appear:

Tapping on the icon allows you to login to your account and initiate syncing of your stored bookmarks:

Once synchronization is complete, you can swipe to the right to view your Bookmarks bar. Tapping on a bookmark entry launches it in the Dolphin browser.

To view your bookmarks in folder format, you can either tap 'Bookmarks' at the bottom of the Bookmarks bar, or you can swipe left, click on the gear icon, and tap 'Bookmarks'.

Xmarks for Dolphin is a Premium product, with a two-week free trial that allows you to test it out before committing to a Premium upgrade.

  1. Really great, but I noticed that Dolphin is not able to show folders in the bookmarks bar :(

  2. Excellent. I've been miffed that I can't easily sync bookmarks with my mobile.
But, as the previous poster notes, subfolders in bookmarks don't appear.

  3. Add bookmarks seem a little problem. But this website in general is cool and good to add more info.

  7. Great idea but rubbish that you have to pay for the premium account to use it. What's the difference of whether I am syncing my bookmarks with my computer browser or my mobile browser - nothing! So why do we have to pay for a premium account for nothing extra.

  8. Great, except that I still need to be able to use xmarks with Opera for it to be of any use.

  9. What about Opera Desktop support?

  10. What are you guys talking about? It does have folder support. When you swipe right, it shows your Bookmarks Bar quick links. Simply click on the Bookmarks title and it will show all your folders. This is a great design in my opinion. It makes for easy and quick bookmarks browsing. Great job guys! This filled one of the gaping holes in the Android OS.

  11. It has top level folder support but doesn't as yet support nested folders for those of us that are super organised. Please note this problem is caused by a limitation in the Dolphin browser rather than a limitation of the XMarks plugin.

  14. Thanks for the great product. I just suggested to readers of my syndicated column Techlife. In fact Xmarks made the headline. I recently left Yahoo Bookmarks as the product was also part of the sunsetting they are doing and was happy to find what a great product you have built. Keep up the wonderful work.

  16. Nice work and gratz to the dolphin users, but seriously, Opera, its got a solid following and has supported plugins for a bit now. Lets get on it shall we?

I know there isn't direct API access to the bookmark store but there is Opera Link access, so sync Xmarks against the Opera Link database and you're good to go.

  17. Support subfolders!!! Dolphin supports it, so should you...the only reason I paid for LastPass/Xmarks Premium is to use it with Dolphin, you should be more diligent with keeping customer's like us satisfied with basic features. Or be more specific on the site (Not the app market page) that there are issues...

  18. I agree with many commenters above. Support for subfolders is really needed for this extension to be useful.
